Rome4: July 18 - August 1, 2004
Rome4, despite its name, was our 3rd trip, continuing a tradition we started in the millennium year, which was also our tenth birthday.
Twenty five teenagers, and five adults spent a week camping near Rome, sight-seeing in the city, and also visiting the Venerable English College and Castelgandolfo, the Pope's summer bolt-hole. We spent a second week at a campsite on the shores of Lake Trasimeno, visiting Assisi, Florence, Siena, San Gimignano and Volterra.
Jarvis Group kindly gave us the use of one of their vans to transport the tents and cooking equipment. Our street-juggler made enough for ice-creams all round, and young parishioners are already wanting to sign up for the next trip; Rome6?
